Hilly southern Ohio is where the sport happens. Briarcliff MX in Lebanon and Malvern (which sits on the eastern side) are two of the better-known venues but the state's track list runs deep. Beans Bike Park, Chillitown MX, Crow Canyon, Delta Raceway. Ohio dirt is mostly clay-loam that sets up tacky when prepped right and turns slick fast when overwatered. The southeast corner has Appalachian-foothill terrain that gives those tracks a different riding character than the flatter venues up north. AMA District 11 covers the points calendar. Season runs roughly April through October. Honda's American manufacturing presence has historically given Ohio a deeper-than-average motocross identity. The state hosts a thick AX (arenacross) winter circuit too, with Honda-sponsored events that pull riders from across the Midwest. Riders here cross over into Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia constantly.
