De Fort Motocross Track

De Fort Motocross Track in Williston, North Dakota is a practice track in the Bakken oil patch, and the only dedicated motocross facility in the greater Williston area. For the region's riders, this track is the local motocross scene.

The Williston location shapes everything about who rides here. The long-term oil-field workforce has made the area's rider population much larger than the small permanent population suggests, and De Fort answers the practical question of where to ride on a day off without driving hours east toward Bismarck or beyond.

The track itself is built for jumps, turns, and speed. It is a practice venue, not a race-day facility: a working track for riders getting regular seat time inside the weather windows western North Dakota allows.

Western North Dakota has extremely limited motocross infrastructure, so De Fort covers the whole regional gap. Riders in Williston, Tioga, Stanley, Watford City, Crosby, and along the US-2 and US-85 corridors have it as the everyday option, and Minot riders make the trip west.

The track also pulls from across the Montana line. Sidney and eastern Montana riders run east because the Williston area functions as a single regional economy regardless of the state border, and De Fort is the closest dedicated motocross track for both sides of it.
