Mandan Motocross

Mandan Motocross is the Bismarck Motocross Association's track on 25th Avenue in Mandan, North Dakota, across the Missouri River from Bismarck and just off Interstate 94. The club calls the property The Rock, and it has been one of the state's premier motocross facilities for decades; the Big Kahuna jump on the main track has been the photo spot here for more than 30 years. Two tracks share the grounds: a natural-terrain main course with hills, big jumps, tight corners and sweeping turns, and a separate 50s track for the smallest riders. There is plenty of room in the pits for haulers, campers and trailers, and a hillside above the track gives spectators a view of the whole layout.

This is a private club track, not an open-daily practice facility. Riding happens on scheduled prepped practice days and on race weekends, both announced on the Mandan Motocross Facebook page. Every rider on the property needs a current, signed and paid 2026 day pass ($30) or season membership ($175 for 50cc to 112cc small bikes, $300 for big bikes, $400 per family), bought online ahead of time; you must be 18 or older to apply, and you keep the gate code and proof of membership with you. Helmets and boots are mandatory, nobody rides down the sides of jumps or after dark, quads and UTVs are not allowed on either track, and camping is for race weekends unless a board member approves it.

Racing is the North Dakota Motocross Association series, which brings its championship rounds here for multi-day race weekends, with the North Dakota Motocross Race Weekend on September 5 and 6 in 2026. The association's purpose, in its own words, is to promote safe off-road motorcycle riding for all ages, develop riding areas, and run competitive and non-competitive events, and the volunteer crew watering the track late into race weekends is how that plays out in practice.
