Profile · Kentucky

Kentucky Motocross.

Kentucky dirt has a hill for everything. 3CMX in Cynthiana, Bucks Run on the western side, Beaver Junction up north, Copperhead Supercross which runs more arenacross-style. The state's geography (rolling Bluegrass in the north, Appalachian foothills in the east, river-bottom flats by the Mississippi) means each track has its own personality. Loamy in spring, claybound in summer, thin and dusty by late August. AMA District 12 covers a lot of the points action and the harescramble crossover is real here; if you've never ridden a hare scramble, Kentucky is a good place to make the jump. Season runs roughly March through November. The off-road riding pulls a lot of weekends away from pure motocross from August through December because the woods are at their best then. If you ride a 250F and only do moto, the locals will tell you you're missing half the fun the state offers.
