2-mile lap through woods. 14-40 ft width variation. Roller coaster design with sharp twists, big ups + downs. Freestyle area.
What riders find
Dunn's Playground Motocross in Brownsville, Kentucky runs a 2-mile main track that winds through the woods, with the width swinging from 14 to 40 feet depending on the section. It rides less like a manicured track and more like an actual trip through Kentucky terrain.
The layout is a roller coaster: sharp twists, rapid altitude changes, and big ups and downs the whole way around. The narrow 14-foot stretches demand precision while the 40-foot sections open up for passing and acceleration, so one lap works every part of your technique.
Three tracks split the property by skill level: pro, amateur, and beginner. Newer riders develop on terrain that fits them without dodging faster traffic, and the pro track keeps the experienced crowd challenged. A dedicated freestyle area handles the jump-and-air crowd that a conventional moto layout does not serve.
The price is about as low as it gets: a $10 minimum rider donation. This is a community-supported riding spot where access comes first, not a commercial track working a pricing sheet.
For riders in Edmonson County and south-central Kentucky (Brownsville, Morgantown, Munfordville, Bowling Green, Cave City, and the Mammoth Cave area), Dunn's is the hometown track. Louisville and Lexington riders come south for the woods-lap experience, and Nashville riders run north across the state line for it. dunnsplaygroundmotocross.com for the schedule.
The property is really four riding areas in one. The pro national style main track is the headliner, and it is the home of Hucker Hill, the famous jump with a 170-foot gap to the downside; clear 200 feet and you join the facility's elite 200 Club. The amateur track dials everything back to a moderate, fully rollable layout for riders still building speed and airtime confidence, the beginner track gives kids and new riders a tame space to learn machine control, and a dedicated freestyle compound with metal ramps (including a roller ramp) serves the FMX and backflip crowd. The whole operation runs on rider donations: drop $10 or more in the box at the gate and it goes straight to fuel, equipment, and weekly track prep, which keeps this one of the cheapest quality places to ride in Kentucky. House rules are simple: dirt bikes only (no ATVs or UTVs), riders under 18 need a parent or legal guardian on site, and every rider needs a DOT approved helmet and a picture ID. Restrooms and wheelchair-accessible parking are on site.
