Talking Rock Arena

Talking Rock Arena in Talking Rock, Georgia is widely considered home to the best peewee track in the state, and the whole property is built around family riding in the north Georgia mountains.

Beyond the peewee program there is plenty to ride: 5.5 miles of one-way woods trails, a vet/oval track, and a main motocross track with tabletops, fast berms, and proper turns. The woods loop gives trail and cross-country riders their own program and rounds out a motocross weekend, while the vet/oval adds a third discipline on the same admission.

The soil is unusual: sawdust mixed with loamy dirt and wood chips. The blend absorbs moisture differently than straight clay or sand, keeps the track rideable through north Georgia's swings in weather, and cuts down the dust that plain-dirt tracks throw during dry weeks.

The operation is clean and family-friendly, with hours from 11am to 6pm, weather permitting. That window fits family schedules without demanding a dawn-to-dark commitment.

Riders in Pickens, Gilmer, Cherokee, Bartow, and Fannin counties treat it as the everyday family track. Atlanta metro families make the trip about an hour and a quarter north into the mountains, mostly for the peewee program and the variety, and Chattanooga and east Tennessee riders run south for the same reasons. The mountain setting in Pickens County plus the family-first design makes it a genuinely unusual property among regional tracks.
