Lazy River MX

Lazy River MX is a historic, family-owned motocross facility in Dalton, Georgia that has run for more than 30 years as one of the premier race venues in the Southeast. The track is built across rolling hills with real natural elevation changes, laid out on a heavily clay-based dirt, and it is known for a wide, flowing, high-speed design that stays friendly enough for novices while still giving expert racers plenty of technical lines.

Know this before you load up: Lazy River is a race-only venue. It is closed to the general public for open or weekend recreational practice and runs strictly as a sanctioned host for major regional series and AMA events. The only time you can ride is on a designated practice day ahead of a race weekend.

The track is best known as the home of the AMA Georgia State Motocross Championship and the "Battle of the States," and it regularly hosts high-stakes rounds for the Loretta Lynn AMA Southeast Area Qualifiers, the Thor Mega Series, the Suzuki BIG Series, and the Yamaha SAS Series. On a race weekend, Saturday practice runs in a strict structured order that splits classes by bike size, age, and skill, from A/B/C big bikes and Vets down to the 50cc youth ranks.

Plan on a full weekend. Gate fees typically run $15 to $30 depending on the day, amateur class registration is generally around $30 per class, and AMA Pro-Am classes sit near $50.
