What riders find

Triple Threat MX Park in Hixton, Wisconsin was previously known as CMJ Raceway. The property has been running since 1988 under the CMJ name, and the Olson family bought the operation in January 2025 and renamed it. The rebrand reflects new ownership but the underlying 122-acre valley property and the multi-track infrastructure that defined CMJ have continued through the transition.

The 122-acre footprint is substantial for a regional Wisconsin motocross facility, and the valley setting in Jackson County's western Wisconsin terrain produces real elevation changes built into the layouts. Most regional Midwest tracks are built on flat parcels and depend on bulldozed berms for any grade. Hixton's valley terrain gives Triple Threat genuine natural-grade variety, which is the property's defining feature.

The five-plus tracks split the property across multiple disciplines. The 1.2-mile natural-terrain motocross track is the property's primary outdoor MX layout, using the valley grade for real elevation. A separate hill climb gives the property's most extreme-sport discipline its own dedicated infrastructure. The peewee track serves 50cc and 65cc kids. An arenacross-style track delivers rhythm-section and SX-format practice. Enduro trails wind through wooded sections of the property for cross-discipline practice and trail riding.

Real elevation changes, big jumps and tabletops, and sections winding through woods give the main motocross track variety through a single lap. The wooded sections in particular are unusual for a Midwest motocross facility, which typically run on cleared parcels. Triple Threat's tree cover adds shade, shelter, and visual variety that flatter regional tracks cannot match.

The spectator infrastructure is impressive for a regional facility. 80 percent of the track is visible from the spectator area. That level of sight-line coverage is rare in motocross, where layouts typically wind through terrain that hides sections from fixed viewpoints. The property's commitment to spectator-friendly design means visiting families can follow a rider through most of the lap from a single vantage point, which matters for households with multiple riders or visiting fans during major events.

The operating schedule runs Thursday through Sunday from 8am to dark. The four-day weekly window is unusually long for a regional facility and reflects the new ownership's investment in keeping the property actively used. The full-daylight operating hours give families a real window for full-day riding trips.

The Hixton location is in Jackson County, western Wisconsin. La Crosse is about 35 minutes west on Interstate 94. Eau Claire is roughly an hour north. Minneapolis-St. Paul is about two hours northwest. The position pulls riders from across western Wisconsin, southern Minnesota, and the broader Mississippi River corridor.

The Olson family era is still finding its rhythm. What that produces operationally across full seasons is going to develop through 2026 and beyond. The bones of the property are strong. The valley terrain, the multi-track infrastructure, and the 80 percent spectator visibility are all real. The brand refresh is the layer on top.
