Hannegan Speedway (Mt. Baker Motorcycle Club)

Hannegan Speedway is the Mt. Baker Motorcycle Club's track on Hannegan Road north of Bellingham, Washington, and it has run Thursday Night Motocross for more than four decades. TNMX runs most Thursdays from April to September with gates at 3 PM, practice at 4:30 and racing at 5:30 until the program is done, with pro classes that pay podium money, amateur classes, ATV classes and a 50cc short track. The gate is $10 (6 and under free with a parent, military free with ID), and entries are $30 for a first class and $25 for each additional, with 50cc classes at $20 on the short track or $25 for the 50 GP long course. A release is signed at the track every time you ride, and riders under 18 need a parental waiver, notarized or signed on site once a season.

The nonprofit club owns the whole facility and also runs flat track, off-road events that link the motocross track with tight woods and a grass track (the Dirty Dog and Team Tortoise hare scrambles), ATV and side-by-side events, and a PacWest Motocross Series weekend, the AMA Featured Series for Washington and Oregon. The grounds are open to the public during events; joining the club gets you the motocross track and trails on your own time. Club meetings are the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7 PM in the clubhouse.
