Lodgepole Valley MX

Lodgepole Valley MX is the home track of the Sidney Cycle Association, an outdoor motocross track near Sunol in the Nebraska Panhandle. It sits about 10 miles east of Sidney, which makes it one of the few places to race motocross in far western Nebraska and an easy haul from northeast Colorado and southeast Wyoming.

Getting there is simple. Take Interstate 80 to the Sunol exit, Exit 69, and head north about a mile and a half. The track is on the east side of the road.

The club runs two day race weekends for two regional series, the NCMA (Nebraska Cornhusker Motocross Association) and the TSDR (Tri-State Dirt Riders). Race weekends are family friendly and priced to match: a $10 gate fee per person with kids 10 and under free, $10 to camp the whole weekend, and race entry at $30 for amateur classes and $35 for pro classes. Bring cash or a check, because that is all the track takes.

One thing to know before a race weekend: the track is in the Mountain time zone, while the NCMA publishes its schedule in Central time. Go by the local times on the club's own flier.

This is a volunteer club track, not a daily practice park. Race weekends are open to everyone, but riding the rest of the time runs on a key system: a $100 family membership is required to get a key for the track.
