Profile · Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Motocross.

High Point Raceway in Mount Morris hosts the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross National every June and the layout is one of the truer old-school tracks left on the circuit. Pennsylvania motocross runs deep beyond High Point: Steel City when it was active, Breezewood Proving Grounds, Adrenaline Ridge, Creekside, plus a long list of central-PA and northeast venues. Soil is mostly clay-loam in the western half, sandier in the east, rocky in the Pocono region. AMA District 6 covers most of the points calendar. The state is big enough that the western Pennsylvania scene (closer to Ohio) and the eastern scene (closer to New Jersey) often don't overlap until national weekend. Season runs late March through November. Loretta Lynn's qualifier weekends pull serious crowds. The vintage and post-vintage scene is one of the more active in the country, supported by a deep collector community. Plan for fall mud weekends; PA clay rides differently when it gets wet than anything west of the Mississippi.
