Rupert MX

Southern Idaho's fairgrounds race gate: tight arenacross-style main track, pee-wee and grass tracks, RMX rounds, and the 2026 Loretta Lynn's NW Area Qualifier rescue.

What riders find

Rupert MX is the motocross facility at the Minidoka County Fairgrounds on East Baseline Road in Rupert, and one of southern Idaho's most trusted race gates. Unlike wide-open outdoor layouts, the main track runs tight and highly technical in an arenacross style, packed with obstacles, alongside a dedicated pee-wee track for young riders and an adjacent grass track.

There is no daily public practice here: the facility operates strictly on select dates for organized races and scheduled practice weekends, anchoring rounds of the regional RMX Championship Series and the Idaho State Championship. A typical event weekend runs prepped practice on Friday and two full days of racing Saturday and Sunday. The track's organizational reputation is strong enough that when weather forced the cancellation of the AMA Northwest Area Qualifier at Skyline MX Park in 2026, MX Sports and the AMA pivoted to Rupert to save the region's Loretta Lynn's qualifier on short notice.

Race weekends are well supported: primitive RV and tent camping sits right beside the track (no hookups, so bring a generator), central concessions feed the pits, and dedicated water stations handle bike washing. Because the track sits on county fairgrounds, the rules are enforced: pit bikes, golf carts, and side-by-sides are transportation only at a strict 5 mph, joy-riding in the pits is banned, and everything outside the track and the campground is off-limits.

For riders in Rupert, Burley, and Twin Falls, it is the Mini-Cassia area's home race track, with Magic Valley Motocross forty minutes west for club practice between race weekends.
