Profile

What riders find at Owyhee Motorcycle Club (OMC).

The Owyhee Motorcycle Club in Boise has run continuously since 1940, making it the longest-running motorcycle club in Idaho and one of the oldest in the entire United States. In October 2022 the 80-acre facility became the first motorcycle riding facility in the country listed on the National Register of Historic Places, federal recognition of decades of contribution to Idaho motorsports. That heritage shows up on the property. Tucked into the foothills of North Boise, OMC spreads across 80 acres of hilly, varied terrain with multiple layouts built for different seasons and disciplines. The summer track is a natural-terrain outdoor motocross course for the warmer months. The winter track is a dedicated sand course built to shrug off Pacific Northwest weather, the unusual feature that keeps OMC racing year-round while regional tracks shut down for half the season. A separate, scaled-down Pee Wee track gives the youngest riders and small-displacement bikes their own space, and a dedicated trials park with grass-track trails adds technical riding across the property's big hills. OMC runs an active annual calendar across motocross, hare scrambles, and trials. The signature event is the Inter-AM Vintage Race: started in 2008, it has grown into one of the country's longest-running and largest vintage races, pulling hundreds of riders from around the world on classic bikes from the 1960s through the 1990s. As a nonprofit, member-supported club, OMC stays alive on volunteer work-party hours and member dues. Members get access to the property for recreational riding during non-event hours, and the general public can come ride during scheduled Paid Public Practices and on official race days, so you do not need a membership card to get on the track at the right time. For riders across Ada County and the wider southwest Idaho Treasure Valley, OMC is the heritage home track. Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, and Eagle riders have everyday access, Mountain Home and Snake River Plain riders make the trip for the year-round multi-discipline programming, and eastern Oregon riders cross the line for classic Idaho racing.
