MX 886

110-foot signature jump ("Mongo"). Doubles, triples, step-ups, tabletops, rockers. Red clay/sand/loam mix.

What riders find

MX 886 in Pontotoc, Mississippi is known across the South for one feature: Mongo, a 110-foot signature jump that draws riders from several states to test themselves. A jump that size puts MX 886 on a short list of Southern tracks where riders can build toward true big air without leaving the region.

Mongo is the draw, but the rest of the track carries the full vocabulary: doubles, triples, step-ups, tabletops, and rocker sections. This is a complete motocross layout, not a one-jump attraction.

The dirt is a mix of red clay, sand, and loam, a blend that gives tacky cornering lines and drains well enough to keep the track workable through more of the north Mississippi weather calendar than a single-soil track would manage.

Hours run Tuesday 11am to 7pm, Saturday 11am to 5pm, and Sunday 1pm to 5pm, covering both midweek and weekend riding. Camping is permitted on-site with no hookups, so a full weekend trip works.

The track sits in Pontotoc County in north Mississippi between Tupelo and Oxford, with easy access from I-22. Riders in Pontotoc, Tupelo, Oxford, New Albany, and the I-22 and US-78 corridor are all close. Memphis riders come south specifically for Mongo, and Birmingham riders run west on I-22 for the same reason. That cross-state pull from Alabama and Tennessee is a regular part of the weekend crowd.
