Kincaid Motocross down on Jodphur Road in Anchorage is the main venue, opens around late April when the ground finally lets go of winter, and runs through September. Twin City Raceway and Rival Park round out the rotation. The dirt is glacial: silty, gritty, fast when packed and a moonscape after a hard rain. Daylight stretches well into evening through June, which is part of why riders here swear summer is the best season anywhere in the country. Pro-level events don't make it this far north, but the regulars take their club series as seriously as anyone in the lower 48. Layers in May, vented gear by July, layers again by mid-August. Pack a fuel jug. Gas stations are a long way between in some parts.
