Southeastern Alabama motocross since 1994. One-mile red clay track with wide sweeping berms, tabletops, rhythm sections, plus a PeeWee track.
What riders find
Riverside Motocross Park in Newton, Alabama has anchored motocross in the southeastern corner of the state since 1994. The main track is a one-mile layout on red clay and loamy soil with wide sweeping berms, tabletops, and real rhythm sections, plus a separate PeeWee track for younger riders. Three decades of continuous operation have made it the regional anchor near the Florida and Georgia lines.
The clay-and-loam mix defines how the track rides. Clay holds tacky lines through the morning, builds grippy berms through the day, and develops the deep ruts that test technique by afternoon. The loam keeps the surface varied and helps the prep last through long ride days. The sweeping berms reward riders who commit to a line, the tabletops cover jump practice at several difficulty levels, and the rhythm sections build the complete skills that regional and national amateur racing demands.
The separate PeeWee track gives 50cc and 65cc riders a properly sized layout with smaller obstacles and slower pace, away from the full-size bikes, so families with riders at different levels can practice the same property at the same time.
Gate fees are $20 per rider and $10 for PeeWee riders, with annual passes available for locals who ride often. The track is open daily from 9am to dark. Sunday racing anchors the competitive calendar, and Saturday practice gives racers a prep day before it. A seven-day schedule is unusual for a regional track and says a lot about the commitment behind the place.
Camping includes primitive and full-hookup sites, first-come first-serve, which makes Riverside a real weekend stop rather than a day trip.
The park sits in Houston County near the Florida and Georgia state lines. Dothan is about 20 minutes north, Tallahassee roughly 90 minutes south, and Albany, Georgia 75 minutes east, so it draws riders from southeastern Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and southwestern Georgia.
