MX 25

MX 25 is Bangor's community practice track, a friendly two-track facility off Gilman Road built for racers of every age and bike size. It fills the everyday-riding gap in eastern Maine: while the state's race tracks run on event calendars, MX 25 keeps a steady weekly rhythm through the summer season, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to dusk and Saturdays from noon to 5. Two independent zones keep everyone safe and moving. The main outer track runs rolling dirt and clay with variable safety berms, fast straights, and natural tabletops, easy enough for amateurs and engaging enough for fast locals. Inside it, a flattened kids loop kept clear of rocks gives mini-bike riders their own space to build balance and throttle control away from big-bike traffic. The price is the point: $30 for big bikes and $15 for minis, among the most affordable gates in New England. The season runs on Maine's terms, with a total winter shutdown until the frost clears in mid-to-late May, and summer sessions get called off on their Facebook when heavy rain turns the clay unrideable. For riders in Bangor, Brewer, Orono, and down the coast to Belfast, it is the closest consistent practice option, with the race-weekend tracks of central and southern Maine a couple hours down I-95.
