What to expect
The AMA U.P. State Championship runs at Valley Raceway in Crystal Falls, capping the double-header weekend after Saturday's U.P. 2-Stroke Championship. Gates open 6 AM Sunday; spectators $10, entries about $35 a class. Part of the Superior MX Series, the AMA-sanctioned championship linking the northernmost motocross facilities in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin. Founded in 2021, the series draws 300 to 500 entries per round across four venues: Valley Raceway, X-Mas Motorsports Park, Range MX, and Pine Ridge Raceway. AMA and District 16 memberships are required for race weekends and must be purchased online in advance. Classes, rules, points, and contingency info at superiormxseries.com.
