Practice
What to expect
Split practice, 10 AM to 4 PM. Sugar Maple MX in Hillpoint, Wisconsin runs its practice day on Saturday, September 26, 2026, the day before its race day. Gates open Friday at 5 PM for camping and at 9 AM Saturday, and the track asks everyone to wait for the gate crew rather than letting themselves in.
Practice is $40 per class, with no AMA or district card required. It runs in 15 minute moto rotations from 10 AM to 4 PM, so arrive before 10 to get all your sessions. Groups are 50cc on the 50cc racing course, 65cc, 85cc, C, Vet 30+ and Women, and A/B. Ride in your own class, and the track will move you if it sees fit.
Early registration for Sunday's race is Saturday from 4 PM to 6 PM. Have your AMA card, district card and wristband with you. Every racer needs a chest protector under the new AMA rule.
Everything is cash only. The gate is $10 per person per day, and riders practicing on Saturday do not pay the Saturday gate. Camping is $20 per night per vehicle, with above ground fire pits only and no fires on the ground. No motorized pit riding of any kind: leave the throttled bicycles, Stacycs, hoverboards, pit bikes and side by sides at home. Pedal bikes are fine when no racing is going on. There is no riding in the woods, which are private property. Gates close at 10 PM.
Adults at the track Friday and Saturday should print and complete the waiver from sugarmaplemx.com before arriving, and both spectators and riders need one. Minors need a parent or legal guardian with them at all times, and parents fill out minor forms at the gate.
