Friday night of Legends weekend at Smokey Pines MX turns reaction time into cash: the Bull Stops When the Gate Drops Holeshot Challenge runs Friday, August 14, immediately following practice. Entry is $25 cash only, per rider per class, open to Legends Open A, B, and C riders ages 25 and up. Each class builds its own prize pot from paid entries, and the first registered challenge rider across the official holeshot line takes home 50 percent of that class's pot. Registration is cash only and closes before the challenge begins; official holeshot line results decide it, and race officials' calls are final. One gate, one winner, half the pot. The 2026 Legends Race follows Saturday, August 15. The Legends weekend runs big bikes only, and Legends Open classes are now open to eligible riders 14 and older (Military and First Responders classes 18+; the Holeshot Challenge itself stays 25+).
