SCMX Summer Series: Round 3

Round 3 of the SCMX (South Carolina Motocross) Summer Series lands at Turkey Creek MX on Saturday, August 29, with racing for every skill level and red plates on the line in every class. Saturday schedule: gates open 6 AM, registration runs 7 to 9 AM, the mandatory riders meeting is at 8:45 AM, practice starts at 9 AM and racing follows. Friday, August 28: gates open at 4 PM with early registration 7 to 8 PM. Getting signed up Friday evening saves you the Saturday morning queue. Dry camping Friday night is free and there are food vendors on site. Round 3 puts real money on the line. The 250 Pro class pays $1,500 cash to first place with 100 percent payout across all remaining entries, and ten entries are required for that $1,500 to be paid. Red plate holders have sponsor contingency on top: a $200 Visa gift card to first place in PW50, 50 Open, 125 and 250C, each needing ten entries for award eligibility. The points leader in every class carries the number one red front number plate graphic. Two things worth knowing for the season, not just this round. Aiken Honda is gifting every class series champion a gift card to Aiken Motorcycle, and riders have to compete in at least three of the four rounds to qualify for the year-end awards banquet. Gate admission is $20 per person with ages 4 and under free, STACYC racing is free, and awards run seven deep with holeshot awards on top. The series has built its name as the family race series in South Carolina: on-time starts, a full crew of 18 flaggers on race day, consistent track prep, a drama-free atmosphere, and awards riders are proud to carry home.
