Race to Remember

The Race to Remember is one of Palmyra Racing Association's most meaningful annual events, a weekend dedicated to honoring the lives and memories of people the club has lost from its motocross family. The club describes it as a time to come together, celebrate the people who made an impact on the sport, and make sure their memories continue to live on through the sport they loved. The Race to Remember closes out Hogback Hill's 2026 motocross season on Sunday, August 30, run under Empire State Motocross for WNYRacing, with double points on the line. Gates open at 7 AM. Race sign-up is 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, the riders meeting at 8:15 AM is mandatory, practice starts at 8:30 AM and racing starts at 9:30 AM. Sign-up is also open the Saturday afternoon before, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, which is worth doing if you are already on the property for open practice. A full year or one event AMA membership is required to race. Entry is cash: $25 for 50cc, $30 per class for Expert, and $35, then $30, then $25 for a first, second and third class. Cards are taken at registration only and carry a merchant fee. No personal checks anywhere on site. American and Canadian currency are both accepted, with an extra $5 on Canadian currency. Admission is $20 cash per person and non-racing kids 7 and under are free. Everyone signs a waiver on the way in and wears a wristband all weekend. Staying over is free on race weekends. There are no hookups and no showers, but there are flush bathrooms, food in the pavilion, parts and tire vendors in the pits, and a bike wash station. This year's race honors Gage Steven Turner. The day carries a 200% Expert payout, $550 added to the 450 A overall winner from Victor Development Group LLC, and an extra $500 pot for the 250 A podium in his honor. Raffles and giveaways run all weekend, including a 12eDrive Stacyc with custom GST 96 graphics and a 50/50 where half the pot goes straight into the Expert purse. Fill out the SpeedWaiver before you arrive to save time at sign-up.
