What to expect

Hogback Hill's woods loop hosts the final round of the Western New York Hare Scramble Series on Sunday, November 1, the club's own annual hare scramble and the last of the series' four upstate rounds. The loop is bark busting single track mixed with steep hills, near vertical downhills, tight turns and sections that never really dry out, running 3 to 5 miles depending on the time of year. Scoring uses the Checkpoint transponder or sticker, the same system as NYOA. You can run your own or buy one once for $10 and use it at every round. No district membership is needed to sign up, online signup is open ahead of time, and this is the one Hogback Hill event with pre-entry. Trophies are awarded at each race, and the series awards are handed out at this final round. If the weather turns, the series may move a race to the Saturday before, so check the track's own channels in the week leading up. Gate times, classes and entry fees for this round have not been posted yet.
Details can change. Dates, times, fees and schedules come from the track's own posts and fliers and can change with weather, track conditions and other circumstances. Call before you haul, or check the track's Facebook page, before you make the trip.
