Ride Day & KC Rukus Party

The Sandbox MX in Rushville runs a full ride day on Friday, August 28 from 2 PM to midnight, then rolls straight into a potluck and party that night. KC Rukus plays live at 6 PM with fireworks to follow at 10 PM. There is a cornhole tournament, so bring cash for that, the pool table is open all night, and the potluck cookout runs on whatever people bring, so turn up with a dish, drinks or snacks to share. Bring your pit bikes as well as your race bike. All bikes are welcome, and for this one that extends to quads and side by sides too. There is a big air contest on the card. The Friday gate is $20 per person if you are riding, and that covers both entry and your riding for the day. If you are not riding it is $10 for the Friday night. Saturday is a separate open ride day at $30 a rider, 10 AM to dusk, so setting up camp Friday night and staying over is the way to do the weekend. Cash at the gate. Both the main track and the kids track are open across the weekend, and all skill levels are welcome from beginner to pro. Camping is welcome, so you can make a weekend of it. On site there is a power wash station, bathrooms, a pavilion and hang out area, a rec room with a pool table, and a refrigerator and kitchen area. House rules: helmets are mandatory, one rider per bike, sign in before you ride, take a sight lap first, no bikes in or around the buildings or on the gravel road, and no glass bottles. Parking is limited so park tight, and there is some overflow parking next door.
