What to expect
High Voltage Hills' biggest event of the year: the AMA-sanctioned New York State Motocross Championships, August 21 to 23 in Greig, broadcast over RacerTV.com. Gates open Thursday, August 20 at 11 AM for the weekend.
Friday runs practice 10 AM to 2 PM ($40 for 65cc through big bikes, $30 for 50cc) with race sign-up 3 to 5 PM. Saturday is race day: practice at 8 AM, then Moto 1 and Moto 2 from 9:30 running as many classes as possible until 6 PM, followed by a pit bike race at 6, the best whip contest at 6:30, and live music 7 to 10 PM. Sunday wraps it up with sight laps at 8 AM and Moto 2 (remaining Saturday classes) plus Moto 3 from 9.
General admission is $50 for the weekend or $20 per day. Class entries run $60 first, $55 second, $50 third (Expert $60 across the board, 50cc $50 for all classes), with contingency on the line from Husqvarna, GasGas, KTM, Kawasaki, Honda, and Triumph. Online registration is live and transponders will be available for rent at the track. The crew is still looking for flaggers for the weekend, so reach out if you can help.
