What to expect
Sunday, September 6 is the biggest day of the Smalltown Showdown at Hangtime MX Park, with two very different formats.
Round 4 is Grand Prix racing from 8:45 AM, and it doubles as Round 3 of the Grand Prix State Race series. Round 5 is a night motocross card, practice at 5 PM with racing immediately after and registration open 3 PM to 5 PM.
Grand Prix is a longer, mixed format race rather than short motos, so check the full Grand Prix times on the Smalltown Showdown page before the day.
Smalltown Showdown gate hours: Thursday 5 PM to 10 PM for camping, then Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 or 8 AM until 10 PM or an hour after the last moto.
All six Smalltown Showdown events pay Triumph contingency, $150, $100 and $50 for the top three.
Minor riders need permission from BOTH parents on the Reads minor rider forms, so sort that before you travel.
Gate admission is $8 per person per day, CASH ONLY. Entry is $35 per class in cash or $37 by card, and Reads members pay $30 cash or $32 card. The Reads membership is a discount card rather than a club, and it is not required: $45 a year cash or $47 by card, saving $5 on every entry including organized practices.
A RaceReady RFID transponder is required for competition events. They are $10 cash at registration and last a year, and a valid transponder from another venue works. You MUST set up your own account at iraceready.com before you reach registration, because they will not create it for you.
