What to expect

The Halloween Spooktakular at Hangtime MX Park on Saturday, October 31, a double points race day wrapped in a full Halloween party. MX racing at 10 AM, registration from 8 AM, one round of practice, Finish Line Cafe open from 8 AM. The party runs Saturday evening after the racing. There is a pumpkin carving contest, bring your pumpkin to registration between 11 AM and 2 PM and voting runs 2 to 4 PM. There is a costume contest where everyone taking part gets a medal and each group winner gets a Halloween themed three post trophy, a pit area decorating contest with two winners, and pit area trick or treating, so bring candy if you want trick or treaters at your setup. There is also a Halloween dish carry-in. Reads provides free chili from the chili pot, you bring a side or a dessert, and there are prizes for the best tasting and the best Halloween themed dish. Gates open Friday 5 PM to 10 PM for camping with no events, then Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM. House rules for the weekend: park in rows in the right direction, horseshoes are fine, and do not block driveways. There are NO quiet hours for generators, and you never unplug anyone else's. Pets stay on a leash or tie out even inside your own pit area. Water fill is on site, no direct power wash hookup, and barrels are capped at 55 gallons. One to note before you pack: NO striders or balance bikes of any make or model are allowed anywhere on the property. Leave them at home or in the trailer. Gate admission is $8 per person per day, CASH ONLY. Entry is $35 per class in cash or $37 by card, and Reads members pay $30 cash or $32 card. The Reads membership is a discount card rather than a club, and it is not required: $45 a year cash or $47 by card, saving $5 on every entry including organized practices. A RaceReady RFID transponder is required for competition events. They are $10 cash at registration and last a year, and a valid transponder from another venue works. You MUST set up your own account at iraceready.com before you reach registration, because they will not create it for you.
