What to expect
Race day for American Classic Racing's Vintage Motocross Race #4 at Diamondback MX, Saturday, August 22 (442 Lykers Rd, Carlisle NY). Ride vintage, live the legacy: the gate drops on everything from Pre-75 iron through Evolution, the Vintage 80s and 90s eras, Y2K, and modern and e-bike support classes, a rolling history lesson from motocross's beginnings into the 80s era of liquid cooling and real suspension.
Gate fee is $20; ACR class fees run $40 for the first two classes and $30 for each after (class descriptions at acrmx.com). Overnight parking is available first come, first served, no water hookups. Friday open practice runs 10 to 4. Questions: 845-554-8717 or [email protected].
Note for the drive in: the property also runs a Grass Drag Nationals weekend on August 22 and 23, so expect the grounds to be busier than a normal race Saturday. Follow the posted spectator and racer fields from the main driveway.
