Profile

What riders find at Snake Creek MX.

Delaware has one continuously operating motocross facility, and it has been Snake Creek MX since 1993. That is not a marketing claim. Delaware is a small state, and motocross facilities have come and gone. The continuity at Snake Creek across more than three decades has made it the default home track for Delaware riders across multiple generations. The track is a full-size loamy and sand mixed soil layout. The mixed profile gives the surface real variety through a session. Loam holds tacky lines through the day. Sand sections develop the deep ruts that test sand technique. Natural Sussex County terrain provides modest elevation built into the layout. The property's three decades of evolution have refined the track configuration to handle the full range of rider skill from beginner through expert. The big-air jumps designed for progressive difficulty are the property's signature feature. Newer riders can navigate them at their pace while expert riders can attack the same obstacles with full commitment. The all-skill design philosophy is part of why Snake Creek has built a multi-generational following. Families who first brought a peewee rider in the 1990s have come back through full racing careers, and the all-skill jump design lets that progression happen on the same property. Well-maintained shows up consistently in rider feedback about Snake Creek. Three decades of continuous operation reflect an operating culture built around consistent track preparation. The maintenance staff prepares the surface between sessions, and the consistency is one of the reasons Snake Creek has held its position as Delaware's primary motocross facility. Weekday group rentals are available for groups of 5 or more riders, which gives instructional programs, training camps, and family group outings a way to book the property for dedicated use. The rental option is the kind of operational flexibility that distinguishes serious regional facilities from casual weekend operations. Harrington is in central Delaware's Kent County. Wilmington is about an hour north on Route 13, Dover is 20 minutes north, and Salisbury Maryland is 45 minutes south. The Delmarva Peninsula position pulls riders from across Delaware, eastern Maryland, and the southern New Jersey shore region. (302) 339-0395 for the current schedule.
