Delaware's only motocross track: 17 acres of groomed coastal-sand loam in Harrington, weekend practice in 20-minute class splits, $40 riders, camping on site.
What riders find
Snake Creek Motocross Park is the last track standing in Delaware, and it carries the whole state's motocross scene on its 17 acres outside Harrington. Established in 1993 on Staytonville Road, it is the critical haven keeping First State riders from hauling hours out of state every weekend.
The dirt is the draw: a loamy profile blended with natural coastal sand that grooms and waters beautifully, on a main track that management regularly reverses and re-faces to keep the layout fresh. High-speed sweepers, challenging tabletops, and rhythm doubles progress beginners safely while keeping fast racers honest. A separate flat pee-wee circle sits away from the action so 50cc riders can build their foundation in peace.
Public practice runs Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm in organized 20-minute rotations split by experience and engine size, at $40 per rider ($25 for members) with spectators $20 at the gate. Weekdays, the track closes to the public but books for private group rentals of five or more riders. Camping and parking are on site, and select weekends bring bounce houses, food trucks, and vendors for a full family day.
The rules are simple and firm: dirt bikes only, with ATVs, side-by-sides, and pit bikes banned from both track surfaces. The sandy loam can wash out in a downpour, so check the live track-prep status on snakecreekmotocross.com before loading the trailer on a rainy morning.
For Dover, Milford, and Seaford riders it is the home gate by default and by right, and Maryland's Eastern Shore crowd crosses the line regularly for the dirt.
