What to expect
Racing in memory of Max Jay Pitts. The Wabash Cannonball Motorcycle Club in Wabash, Indiana, one of the oldest tracks in the nation, runs the Max Pitts Memorial Motocross Race on Sunday, October 11, 2026, honoring Max Jay Pitts (1940 to 2024). The weekend was rescheduled from late September; Saturday is now an organized practice from 10 to 4 and Sunday is race day. Sign-up is at 7:30 AM, practice at 9, and racing starts after the riders meeting, with giveaways and the buddy race during intermission.
Entry is $35 per race class and $20 for Wobbler/Beginner, and the gate is $10 per person with 5 and under free, all cash only. Classes run Open A/B and C, 250 A/B and C, Schoolboy 1, 30+, 40+, 50+ and 60+, 85 Jr and Sr, Girls 9-15, Womens 12+, Supermini, Open Mini, 65 Jr and Sr, pit bike, the 50cc Open, Jr, Sr and Shaft classes and Wobbler/Beginner. Gates open Friday at 6 PM, overnight parking is free and a food vendor is set up both days.
