What to expect
Vet racing in the Southwick sand. The 2026 Southwick Northeast Vet Championship runs Saturday, September 26 at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, with vet classes from 25+ all the way to 60+. The track calls it one of its favorite races of the year.
The front gate is open Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM. Saturday the gate opens at 6:00 AM, registration opens at 6:30, practice begins at 8:00 and racing starts around 9:30 AM. The after party is around 5 PM, with bench racing in the registration area Saturday night.
No membership in any organization is required, and all riders are welcome. Wristbands are $20 for Friday night through Sunday, with no refunds, and the gate does not take credit cards. Sign up is $40 for your first two classes and $20 for each additional class. Transponders are required: rentals are $20 plus a $300 refundable deposit or a held credit card, and brackets are a refundable $10. The entry form is on the track's event page, so fill it out before you get in the sign-up line.
Classes: 25+ Women, 40+ Women, 25+, 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+ in A, B and C (with 25+, 30+, 40+ and 50+ paying the A class), 55+ Open, 60+ Open, and Open Vintage for vets only on bikes built in 2002 and earlier. Any age classes fill out the day: Open A, B and C, 125 Two Stroke, Open Two Stroke and Open Four Stroke. There is also a free #OLDMENTHATUSEDTORACE class for riders who have not had a gate drop in five years.
Minors riding at The Wick 338 need the minor release signed and notarized by both parents, or signed in front of a track official with ID if both parents are at the track. Sunday, September 27 is a normal NESC race day, so stay over.
