What to expect
Battle at BAM returns to Big Air Motocross for a three day race weekend in Newaygo, celebrating America's 250th.
Two special Battle Classes run across the weekend, presented by Central Motorsports: the 65 Battle Class and the C Class Battle. Both are two day events, with Moto #1 on Friday and Moto #2 on Saturday. Each moto is 10 minutes plus 1 lap, and overall winners are decided on combined finishes. Payouts come as Central Motorsports dealer checks: $500 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd, $200 for 4th, $100 for 5th and $50 for 6th. To be eligible for a Battle Class, riders must be registered in one other class on both Friday and Saturday.
Sunday brings the District 14 State Championship races. D14 sanctioning applies to those races.
Spectators are welcome all weekend. Bring a lawn chair and watch from the fence or walk the pits, with food, vendors and a family friendly atmosphere all weekend. Overnight stay is available.
Big Air's usual race weekend format: gates Friday 5pm to 11pm and Saturday 7am to 11pm, kiosk sign up Friday 7pm to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 7am to 9am, riders meeting at 8:30am, practice from 9am and racing straight after.
