Winchester Speedpark turns the 4th of July into a full race weekend, with open practice Friday and back-to-back WSP Spring Series rounds Saturday and Sunday. Sunday brings NEMX to the property as Round 8 joins the two series on one gate drop, and the top 5 are awarded both days. Friday's open MX practice runs 9am to 3pm in 10-minute rounds: $45 for non-members, $35 for WSP and NEMX members, and $30 for 50cc non-race bikes on the cut track. The rotation runs Vet 30+, 85/Supermini, 50cc cut track, Women/Girls 65+, Novice, 50cc/65cc, then AM/EX. Note there is no gate refund Friday if you only practice Friday and do not race the weekend. Race entry is $40 for the first two classes and $20 for each additional class, with transponder rentals at $10 per day ($400 cash or a card on file as collateral). Both race days run practice at 9am with racing right after. Gate fees run in two windows. Thursday 5pm through Saturday 3pm is the double weekend gate: $30 for adults and racers, $20 for Winchester residents and seniors 65+, and non-racers 4 and under free. From Saturday 3pm on (for Sunday-only crowds) it drops to $15 and $10. If you are not racing Sunday, leave by 8pm Saturday and have your wristband cut for a half gate refund. Camping arrivals: gates open Thursday at 5pm (please do not come earlier, there is no gate staff before then), you cannot park on Route 10 since it is a state highway, and pack in awning to awning because a full property is expected. The holiday extras make the weekend: a pit decorating contest with three winners (judging Friday evening for camps that are ready, Saturday after racing for the rest, winners announced Sunday), karaoke with DJ Shellz under the pavilion Saturday at 7pm, and fireworks at dusk.
